Where am I @

So this week has been hard for me because I've just been thinking on my own lately about moving out of the Health Physics Academy or whatever it's called but, sorry. I want out of this because the way I want my future to start in high school now is to go with what I can handle, what I want what is best for me. So eventually I did try knocking that door down but my teacher and this other teacher is pushing me back to where I don't want to be. They say "I think it's better if you stay here because this class gets extra tutoring from tutors" and believe me I appreciate it but I don't think this is my future pathway. Even though I really like it here, but though it's not my passion here. And I'm sorry Ms. Wells if you're reading this. I just wanted to see what it is like here and if I would enjoy it or not and I feel like I'll rather just be a ordinary student without this Health Physics thing sorry. (This was something off my chest that I wanted to say...)

Child Trafficking in Ghana

I couldn't believe that Ghana, a western African country could possibly solve their problems by Child Trafficking. In Ghana there are children being smuggled or being transported to work in Farms of cocoa bean for hours. The only reason for this problem is to get money out of it to probably help with the groceries and etc.

This can have a negative impact on the children especially at a young age. Because they won't have an education during their childhood days. When they grow up to be mature young adults they won't know how to read or do the math because they were troubled with working on the farm. Some parents won't let their children eat as well, if they won't go to work at the cocoa farms.

So the government is currently trying to resolve this issue from happening to our young generation. Because buyers or companies are too into chocolate they would need the cocoa beans, and that causes child trafficking. But if farmers join the Unions of Fair trade they would get a fair price from the cocoa beans, and the profits would go back into the community.

Child Labour

Child labour is children under the age of 15 years old who are working long hours in hazardous conditions which leads to psychological/physical harm to the brain.

An immediate effect on a child who works under age is getting tired from working long hours and not getting an education or daily meals. And a long time effect on child labour is their income-earning potential as adults.

The reason why there are millions of children working as child labourers is because families or parent's who are too weak or too old can't work anymore to pay off their debts. So they "bond" a child. Bonding a child is giving your own child to work off the payments so eventually at the end debts will be paid.

To me child labour is out of hand. There should not be any more child labourers around the world period because education is our birth right, so against child labour we must fight.

Amazon Rainforest - Geographically Significant

The Amazon Rainforest is a geographical significant place because of its features of the landscape and the living creatures on the land and sea. The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest international and it only covers 6% of the Earth's land surface and it is home to over 50% of global biodiversity.

The Amazon Rainforest is located in South America right on the equator so with the sun always rising from that specific point it is mostly hot there and sometimes rainy. The Amazon Rainforest runs through Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador & Peru.

"Lungs Of The Planet" they call the Amazon Rainforest. Because there are so many trees there and they provide pure oxygen and clean out the c02 in the air and all the negative oxygen in the air. So that's why the Amazon Rainforest is also called the "Lung's Of The Planet."

One Tree Hill: Maungakiekie

This is my brainstorm about One Tree Hill. As you may have heard One Tree Hill is a hill located in Auckland and it was best known for the tree standing on top of the hill. At the end the tree had to be cut down. If you wanna know some reasons why, well I suggest you to read or scan through my brainstorm.

My Significant Place

The place that is significant to me is the cemetery. The cemetery is a place where I go to with my family to be reunited with my mother or loved ones who had past away when I was a little child or as I was growing up.

Another  reason why this place is significant to me is because it makes me reminisce all those good times and bad memories I had with that person but, I never got that chance to do that so it just brings me closure to my mother’s presents and helps me think about things like how my childhood would’ve been if my mother was still alive.

A third reason why this place is significant to me is because I like visiting my mum and other close family members who had past away. And I don't like to make them feel like they've been forgotten because they haven't to me. And they been soo much to me even if they're dead.

Will Smith's Well Being

Skip to 5.56 sec/s Fresh Prince of Bel-air

My Brainstorm about Hauora (Well Being) connecting this to the video clip you just watched.

If you haven't watched this video it is a short clip from the show called Prince In Bel Air and in the clip Uncle Phil has an early surprise for Will's upcoming graduation for doing an awesome job at school but, Uncle Phil didn't know that Will had the pills that Carlton took and had almost died. So Will admitted it was from himself because he felt guilty. So that's where Social Well Being comes in and it effects negatively cause sometime friends can put you in some deep trouble while you're over exhausted from physical well being like Basketball, your work & sometimes education.

So after when Will told Uncle Phil & the family that the pills were from him Will felt sorry leading him into his Mental & Emotional Well being and started crying cause he was responsible for the bad action and mistakes he made that almost killed his cousin Calton.

Goals for 2018 Social Studies

It's the beginning of the year and I am putting up my goals for myself starting from this very moment.

       Tools I  need to Success

FIrst and foremost I need to come to class bright and early with my brain switched on and ready to learn new amazing things for each and every class. Having my netbook there everyday fully charged too.

        Process of being Success

Listening to his/her instructions so I know how to guide myself to the place of being successful. Being on the right websites and keeping my footprint online positive is going to help me stay strong minded which will make me focus on my school work.

          Final Outcome

last but not least, to help me walk the path to success is that I need support from the teacher or whoever may be there. Why? Well because I feel like I need to have the same mindset to understand the task that I am doing. And If I understand the process or the main idea then I will complete my work after every period.

New Zealand Government

I think that the new Party government of New Zealand is going to work out pretty fine. Why? Because Winston Peters has chosen the Labour Party to be government. (Yay!) I think that choosing the Labour Party is a very smart excellence choice there for, they have very good policies and great ideas for New Zealand Housing, Education and more brilliant stuff.

But for sure why did Winston Peters make New Zealand wait that long?? To me it was pretty obvious that the Labour Party would've won.

Party Choices

In our social Studies class we have been looking in to the New Zealand Party election and some things about the Mp and Parliament. As a class we have made our own Party election so we know what they do when you have to vote in the New Zealand election and what Party has the best Policies for when they win the election. Before all this I was voting for the Labour party because they had some good policies like when they win. They would stop the state house building and help out the ones that don't have a home and they're living in the streets. But now I am thinking of choosing the Maori party because they have some good policies too like helping out in the Education and the family in needs. And so I vote Maori Party for local MP.

If I were a Prime Minister for a day

If I were a Prime Minister for a day I would make the prices for everything in New Zealand $0.00 so then people wouldn't worry about buying food for their families, getting a new car, buying a house or like paying off their housing bills. But that's only going to be for a day. And I hope that will make some people like the homeless enjoy a day for once in their life time. So that means they can go to malls get some free clothes and probably get heaps of food for them selves.

Government

Image result for New Zealand Government

The government in New Zealand sorts out important stuff like our taxes, funds, citizenship's for people and housing problems for people that live here in New Zealand and other important stuff like that. I know that when it comes to elections, people from 18 and over have to vote or else they will get a fine. A fine to pay because they didn't vote in the elections.

I don't really know that much about the New Zealand Government but I can say that they are doing a good job. I know that there are 6 or 7 different parties in the government. There is the Labour party, Green party, Maori party, ACT party, New Zealand first party and I forgot the last one or two but that's all I know about the New Zealand Government. Thanks for reading this blog post I hope you learned something from this. And I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and goodbye.

Push & Pull Factors

In migration, push factors is when you forcefully push people away to a different place or country. And Pull factors is when you have to leave where you are currently staying to a new place or country.

My grandpa's sister & husband was in a situation like this. They were pulled into New Zealand which is called pull factors. They were pulled to New Zealand so they can live a happier better life then living in Tonga.

But then my grandpa's sister left New Zealand because her mother just recently died in probably her late 80's or something. So when she left she also left behind her husband called Fine. This is a true story about my family members so I can't tell you everything that happened but, later on a few weeks later Fine flew back to Tonga because of some important issues that happened and because he wasn't allowed to live with me after what happened to me.

So at the beginning of the story they were pulled to New Zealand for a better happier future but, then at the end of the story one person was pulled back to Tonga and the other person was pushed back to Tonga.

My Social Studies Exams Reflection

Last week starting from Wednesday all the way through to Friday the whole school of Tamaki College began our middle of the year school tests. The tests were about what we have been learning about and all kinds of things. On Friday we did our Social studies exam. I thought that I went okay with our Social studies exam.

I think that this went okay because during the Social studies period I was doing my work, listening to my teacher and actually working my butt off for everything. Of course I didn't get everything 100% like how we were supposed to write what we learned back in Term 1 but I know I tried my best and that's all that I could do.

For my exams that coming up next I will have to work hard and keep trying and finish my tasks so I can improve on my tests.

Positive Digital Footprint

It is important to have a positive digital footprint because when you are doing something negative online you leave footprints on the internet and you don't want anybody to see what you were doing so you should always think about everything twice.  Also if you think that when you delete your history on your computer or phone or something you might think it's deleted forever and nobody can see what you have deleted but, really somebody (hacker or somebody good with computers) can just be stalking on you at that very moment. So remember everything you do online you will always leave a digital footprint. I just want to stay make sure you have a positive digital footprint online. Thank you for listening and hope you have learned something. Good bye.

About Tokelau

Image result for tokelau island
This week in Social Studies class we have been watching a documentary video about Tokelau. Tokelau has been changing over the past few years like their tradition/culture has changed, how Tokelau has gone global now, food is changing, education is also changing, they are living in a good position at the moment, they are citizens of New Zealand, and that the council there are finally listening to woman's side of story and what their perspectives are to things and what they have to say. I would like to tell you why Tokelau is changing but I guess I wasn't listening very carefully to the video. And that's all what I've got for today.

Inquiry Reflection

Our group didn't work as a team because some of us were on other sites and not focusing on our inquiry work.  The rest were working really good and managing themselves to what they had to do.

The things that we did well together as a group was just communicating on what or who should do that and stuff.  Next I think that we can work on as working and participating as a team not one or two people mucking around and not doing what their supposed to be doing.

Our next job to do as a group is to improve on our thinking and to work together as a team.  Also the next thing we're doing is to write a poem or a song lyric or something that is about our inquiry topic which is Healthy Foods and that's about all.

Group Project

The last few weeks our SOS class have been focusing on our own projects.  Our project about Healthy foods and its been going okay with the project but we are not going too well.  My opinion for the issue of healthy foods is that people in our community eat too much unhealthy food like junk foods and takeaways most.  And they might end up dying in a young age.  The possible solution for this issue might be just helping them to see a better healthier way of eating and living life.

Our group has not been working as a team because we have been doing other stuff like going on other sites.  We are still up to answering the questions.  We are good at finding information and answers to our project solution but we need work on working as a team.
