Olympics

As you all know that the Rio 2016 Olympics recently finished and I am kind of sad because it was really fun watching the sports and athletes competing with other athletes from different countries. Here is a presentation about the Olympics and other stuff if you read it.

Hiwi The Kiwi

Do you guys know Hiwi the Kiwi? Well, they came to our school yesterday afternoon and taught us about Kai Moana and the important things when you go out to fish for some yummy Kai Moana.  If you don't know what Kai Moana means I can tell you. Kai means food and Moana means sea and if you put it together it is food from the sea or sea food.  Mr and Mrs Minstrel (husband and wife that came and talked to our whole school) gave us heaps of advice, so when we go out fishing we would know what to do if anything bad happens.

Here are some advice:
Take some ice with you to cool the fish and put some salt on it because it is good for the fish or else it would get bad.
When you hold any kind of fish make sure you hold it with an wet towel so their scales don't come off.
If you want to clean your fish you should clean it with salt water so your fish doesn't get rotten.
Always make sure you and whoever your with on the boat wear a LIFE JACKET so if your boat sinks you will be floating and alive because your wearing an LIFE JACKET. That's all I learnt from Hiwi the Kiwi and I hope you enjoyed my blog post about Hiwi the Kiwi today.

Cheering On (My Writing)

This is my writing that I have done about an Olympic Athlete (don't know if he is one). Read my story really carefully and see if there is any mistake that I have done, if there are any mistakes please comment so when I write a story, recount or a narrative I'll remember to use your comments to help my writing better. Have a good day and I hope you enjoy.

Cheering On
At Brazil, Rio de Janeiro (where the Olympic games is held), 5:00 am John’s alarm clock rang repeatedly.  John finally rolled out of his comfortable bed to get ready for his big, first and last boxing game at 5:45 am.  It was 5:30 am, John just finished his light healthy breakfast, got dressed into his uniform.  Now all he needs to do is to go to his game as soon as possible because he was running late.

Ding Ding Ding! The bell has rang. That means that the boxing game is about to start, but not yet.  The crowd was cheering so loud you couldn’t even hear the referee call out the two players. As the referee told the two competitors to come inside the boxing ring, Luke and John were warming up for their game.

“Welcome everybody to the Rio Olympics- Boxing game, tonight we have Luke from Germany playing against John from France!” Shouted the referee, on the microphone. Now the boxing game just begun, Luke started off with an uppercut to John’s chin which kind of clicked a little and then John fell backwards and knocked his head on the referee’s feet (the referee didn’t mind).  “Yay!” Everybody screaming and shouting for Luke, so John got back up with fierce on his face and he started giving Luke four hard jabs straight in the cheek bones and then with a hook, cross into Luke’s munted face.

There was silence for 5 seconds (because everybody was blown away by John’s actions) and then every single body in the stadium all cheered and jumped up and down for John because he had won the boxing match for the morning. John received a gold medal after his game and he was so stoked, he couldn’t wait to go back to his home country and show his family and friends his first ever gold medal that he won at the Rio Olympics 2016.

Trip To America, Silicon Valley

Last term these two students and a teacher called Mr Sharma from Tamaki College and Andrew Patterson, came to our Team 5 block to talk to us about how these two students (Saia & Gabe) were picked to go to the United States, Silicon Valley.  At Silicon Valley there was so many company's they went to like Stanford University, Khan Academy, Yelp, Microsoft, Google, Xero, Facebook, Instagram, Apple, Twitter, Ideo, Nasa and Alcatraz.  Before Saia and Gabe went to America they didn't even know some of the company's that they were about to go to, but now after they came back they know a little bit of imformation about those company's.  While they were talking to us about the things they did, I could see that they were so motivated, inspired and full of happiness because they have been to many different places in Silicon Valley and learned heaps about them. When I am a year 11 at Tamaki College and if somebody gave me an opportunity for something so amazingly special to do then I would say yes to it.

Why Do Our Muscles Get Tired

This presentation shows heaps of information about why and how our muscles get tired and what fatigue means. Fatigue means when you exercise really hard, but during your exercise you don't get enough oxygen into our body.  There is more information in the presentation if you look at it then what I have written here.  I hope you enjoy and learn something from my presentation.
